6 DAYS GORILLAS & MASAI MARA SAFARI

In the company of an experienced park ranger you will be tracking the whereabouts of one of the habituated family groups who live in the park. journey along forested (sometimes muddy and slippery) slopes, thick vegetation and bamboo forests before you reach the territory of these gentle giants. 

En route, your ranger will point out telltale signs of previous gorilla activity like dung, nests, and chewed bamboo shoots. Depending on the location of the gorillas on any given day the walk can take anything from 1 to 7 hours. Once the family of gorillas has been located, settle in to the environment and enjoy the hour you have to quietly observe these fascinating primates whose habits and mannerisms remind us so much of our own.

Our representative will drive you to Kigali City, arrive three hours before your flight, and continue to Kenya.

Note: You can add an extra day and experience other excursions in the Volcanoes National Park such as; volcano hikes, canoeing, nature walks, golden monkey trekking and a visit to Dian Fossey’s tomb and research center. 

Arrive at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport where you will be met by our representative and transferred to Wilson Airport for a flight to Masai Mara.

Breakfast in the morning will prepare you for a full day of game viewing in the famous Masai Mara National reserve across the savannah grassland and rolling hills. You will carry packed lunch from the lodge and then head out into the reserve for a whole day of spectacular game viewing. Look out for wildlife – big herds of lions, leopards, elephants, the elusive cheetah, Thomson’s gazelle, wildebeest, buffaloes, impalas, topis, spotted hyenas, zebras, baboons, and the graceful giraffes. You return to the lodge or camp later in the evening for dinner.

Today, we can go for another day of game drives or you can go for two optional activities. The Hot Air Balloon Safari and the Nature walk. The former is done before sunrise and can be followed by a nature walk in the afternoon.

Today marks the end of your amazing Kenya Safari as you will have breakfast in the morning and then have a morning game drive before the flight or drive back to Nairobi. The Nairobi Tour is possible on arrival, and you can also choose to extend your day with a beach holiday to Mombasa.
