TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Savanna Trails Uganda Limited is referred to as the “Company” and the service taker as the “Client”.  

PRICES

This includes all expenses as outlined in the itineraries, brochures, or website.

Validity of Prices:

These are valid for the periods shown but are subject to change without notice in the event of Government action, i.e. increase in hotel tax or VAT, or to increase if prices are significantly affected by other circumstances beyond our control. Prices are based on exchange rates prevailing at the time of publication and may alter should any major variation in exchange rates occur.

Prices Include: Prices quoted for safaris generally include transport as per the itineraries, game drives where appropriate, full board accommodation, picnic/extra lunches where stated, scheduled charter flights were mentioned, and park entrance fees.

Prices Exclude:  Itinerary prices generally exclude international flights, visa costs, airport taxes, optional excursions, personal insurance (medical or other), flying doctor membership, drinks, tips, phone calls, laundry, and any items of a personal nature. Children under 12 years of age sharing with parents generally pay 50%.

Reservation & Payments.

A non-refundable deposit is required on booking and the balance 2 weeks before the booking date, although in certain circumstances larger deposits are required. If booking within 2 weeks of the booking date, the whole amount is payable at the time of confirmation. Notwithstanding any prior confirmation of arrangements, the right is reserved not to undertake a booking if payment is not made by the foregoing. For international air tickets, full payment will be required at the time of booking. The exact terms and conditions of the airline ticket will also apply. These vary with the airline and with the type and class of the ticket and are available on inquiry or at the time of booking.

Credit Card Payment.

This Credit Card Payment Service enables us to accept credit card payments from you the customer.  VISA, MasterCard, and PayPal are supported. When your travel arrangements have been finalized and we need a deposit or balance payment, our Safari Expert will send you the necessary link to this payment process.

This process can only be used 4 to 8 weeks or more before the start of the travel arrangements. If your arrangements are earlier than this period, then our Safari Specialist will give you alternative modes of payment. The reason for this is that to secure your bookings, we often pay deposits or even full payments in advance, and using this process your payment is only credited to ourselves at the end of the following month when you paid i.e. you pay on 1st or 31st December, and we are only credited on 31st January, and so on.

TRANSPORTATION

Transportation, transfers, excursions, and tours shall be by our safari vehicles which include 4-wheel drive tour vans, Land cruisers, safari minibusses, and saloon cars.

BOOKINGS

A deposit of 50% of the cost shall be required for any booking not later than 14 days before the date of safari or the time indicated.

PAYMENTS

All safaris must be fully paid before the commencement of the safari

Due to fluctuations of foreign currencies (US Dollar) all outbound clients (those with packages outside Uganda and those non-residents whose payments are made using USD, are advised to make payments in USD or else the cost will change anytime due to Uganda shilling fluctuation.

We only take year 2000+ series of the Dollars due to security features.

All conversions are done using the prevailing forex rates

TRIP ORIENTATIONS

Unless the safari is private, clients will share the facilities with others. Clients are therefore advised to be good-natured and enjoy being with others. Be prepared to encounter customs and habits, which may be different from your own.

CHANGES OF ITINERARY

The sequence of itineraries is normally adhered to but the company reserves the right to make alterations occasioned by weather, road works, high season congestion, or any other unforeseen circumstances without taking any liability.

CANCELLATION

A full refund will be provided if cancellation occurs in writing 30 days before the commencement of a safari. Refund on all pre-paid money will be based on cancellation fees levied by hotels and lodges. Generally, there is a 50% charge on cancellation within 14 days, 75% charge within 7 days, and 100% charge within 48 hours. We reserve the right to deduct all expenses incurred from money paid. Some services are non-refundable.

LAWS

Clients are advised to follow The laws and rules that govern the host countries including park regulations and not go against those laws. Some laws might be different from the laws of their countries.

Responsibility.

All bookings are accepted on the specific condition that Savanna Trails Ltd acts only as booking agents for the tour members in making arrangements for hotels, transportation, sightseeing, restaurants, or any other services in connection with any itinerary. Every effort and care will be taken in making such arrangements, however, Savannah Trails Ltd do not assume any liability whatsoever for any injury, damage, loss, accident, or delay to person or property due to any act or default of any hotel, carrier, restaurant, company or person or any of their servants or agents rendering any of the services included in the tour.

The tickets, coupons, tariffs, rules, or contracts currently in use by any carrier, hotel, restaurant, or other contractor rendering service shall constitute the sole contract between such contractor and the tour member. Furthermore, Savanna Trails Ltd accepts no responsibility for any damage or delay due to sickness, pilferage, labor disputes, machinery breakdown, quarantine, government restraints, weather, or any cause beyond their control. The right is reserved to cancel or change itineraries or substitute services without notice and to decline to accept or retain any tour members at any time. No carrier shall be responsible for any act, omission, or event during the time passengers are not on board its conveyance.

LIABILITY

The company liability to passengers carried in vehicles for transfers, excursions, and tours is governed by the law of Uganda, and all claims are subject to the courts of Uganda. Whilst every care is taken, the company shall not be held liable for loss or damage to personal property, and clients are advised to arrange relevant travel insurance unless advised as included.

Where Travel insurance is not included. It’s the responsibility of the client to get their travel insurance and Savanna Trails (U) Ltd will not be responsible for any eventuality that arises by the client not taking the cover.

SUB SUBCONTRACT

The company reserves the right to subcontract any part of the full safari and in the event of such sub-contract and all the above terms shall apply.
