Overview
Lake Mburo National Park is the smallest of Uganda’s savannah national parks. it is located conveniently close to the highway that connects Kampala to the parks of western Uganda. Together with 13 other lakes in the area, Lake Mburo forms part of a 50km-long wetland system linked by a swamp. Five of these lakes lie within the park’s borders.Â

Day by Day
Our representative will pick you up from the hotel and proceed to Lake Mburo National park located along the Masaka – Mbarara highway in western Uganda, 228km from Kampala. We have a short stop at the Equator for an informative talk, photography and the equator experience.
Note: Optional tours on this day include; the Ankole Cultural Tour and a hike up the Biharwe Hill where the 1520 AD Eclipse Monument is located. Â

On this morning game drive, look out for Buffaloes, Eland, impala, warthog, waterbucks, giraffes among other animals. After lunch, we proceed for an afternoon boat ride. Look out for hippos and crocodiles found in the lake. You will also see the malachite kingfishers, African Fish eagles, blue headed weavers, Rufuos, long tailed starlings, the pied kingfishers, hamerkops, Herons, pelicans, the rare shoebill among others.Â

Morning walk with a ranger guide across the wooden observation platforms of the salt lick area, where wildlife gathers to lick the salty soil. We then depart for Kampala or Entebbe. End of Tour.
